I'm so sorry to hear this.  Grew up in schools & at church with John (his dad, Fr Lawrence M. Berry, was our beloved priest at St. John's Episcopal Church).  My condolences to the family.  Rest in Peace, dear John.  Amen!

I last saw John about 1973 in Odessa.  I had returned to Odessa and was working at the Employment Office when John came in.  He had completed his college and military service and was looking for a job.   We had a good visit and I don't think I saw John again.  He will be missed.

John was a kind person, who always had a smile on his face.  I always thought about him and where he was when I passed his old home, when I was in Odessa.  I know his family will always miss him, but always remember the the blessings of having him in their lives. God grant them comfort.

I still remember when John came to San Jacinto Elementary. He was the kid from California and he could run faster, longer and jump further than anybody in our class. He was a good guy that was always happy. God's getting a good guy.
