In Memory

Fred Arnold "Fritz" Wernli, Jr

On Friday, March 16, 2018, Fritz Wernli went home to his Heavenly Father. He was a man of strong faith and loving character. Fritz was born to parents, Fred and Glena Wernli, on February 6, 1947, in Midland, Texas. Fritz grew up in Odessa, Texas, where he played baseball and graduated from Odessa High. He attended college at Texas Christian University where he met his wife, Janet.

After considering a teaching career, Fritz found his true calling as a 4th generation oil and gas geologist. He was blessed with two dream jobs; first with Musselman Oil and the second with Tidal Petroleum. Fritz enjoyed serving with Olmos Kiwanis, the Petroleum Club, and Balcones Energy as well as with Alamo Heights Christian Church and First Presbyterian Church. Fritz is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet; his son, Matthew, and daughter-in-law, Ashley; his daughter, Christina, and son-in-law, Brandon; and his five grandchildren: Caroline, Claire, and Charlotte Wernli, and James and Adelie Allen.

Services in celebration of Fritz's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Wednesday, March 21st, at 2pm. Donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Pregnancy Care Center of San Antonio.
