Glenn Wood

Joined USMC after high school (1966 to 1970). After Marines started working for Texas DPS and worked for almost 32 years. Retired as a Highway Patrol Captain in Austin. Married my wife who I met on a blind date. She is a 1968 grad of PHS and is retired from banking. We have one son who is a English teacher in Kyle. We recently built a new home just North of Austin on the outskirts of Leander. After retiring from DPS I worked at several jobs-U.S. Marshall's Service as a court bailiff, 3 more years with DPS as an Auditor, a bank security guard and a guard at Applehead Island (gated community in Marble Falls) but now I'm fully retired. Spend my time working in my yard, riding my trail bike and reading.

Very uneventful. Spent most of my time trying NOT to go to school. Worked at Mac's Meat Market on Grandview and did not graduate with my class of 65. Went back in 66 so I could graduate at mid-term. Lessons learned the hard way. Attended night school at OC and UTPB - studied economics and Law Enforcement Management. This helped as I ended up starting (writing rules and regulations) and running the State's very first Exhaust Emission's Program.
